I reinstalled Somilo and now nothing is being blocked
This is expected, and it is the most common thing people write to us about.
When you delete and reinstall Somilo, iOS invalidates the tokens that identified the apps you had selected. The app cannot recover them. What makes this confusing is that the system does not report an error — Somilo simply behaves as if you had selected zero apps, and the night passes with nothing shielded.
The fix: open Settings inside Somilo and choose your apps again.
Protection is not turning on at night after a reinstall
Related to the above, and worth doing at the same time. After a reinstall, the nightly schedule is not automatically re-armed.
The fix: in Somilo’s settings, turn the night block off and then on again. That re-registers the schedule with iOS.
The shield is not appearing at the scheduled time
Check these in order:
- Screen Time permission. Open iOS Settings > Screen Time and confirm Somilo is still authorized. Permission can be revoked by a system reset or by another Screen Time app.
- Selected apps. Open Somilo’s settings and confirm your apps are still listed. If the list is empty, see the reinstall answer above.
- The schedule is on. Confirm the night block is enabled and that the time is what you expect.
- Date and time. In iOS Settings > General > Date & Time, make sure “Set Automatically” is on. A manually-set clock can put the schedule out of step.
If none of that helps, email us with your iOS version, your iPhone model, and what you saw.
How do I cancel a subscription?
On your iPhone: Settings > (your name) > Subscriptions, then select Somilo and cancel.
Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; you keep access until then. We cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf — Apple manages all App Store subscriptions.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds go through Apple, not through us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
We cannot issue, process, or reverse an App Store purchase. If Apple declines and you think something went wrong on our side, write to us and we will help you make the case.
Where is my data? Can I get it back?
Everything Somilo records lives on your iPhone. We do not run a server and we do not hold a copy.
That is good for your privacy and bad for recovery: if you delete the app, or reset or lose your device, that data is gone and we cannot restore it. There is nothing on our side to restore from.
Which iPhones are supported?
iPhone running iOS 18.0 or later.
iPad and Mac are not supported at the moment.
I found a bug, or I have an idea
Both are welcome. Ideas about how the night should feel are especially welcome — that is the part we care most about getting right.
For bugs, it helps a lot if you include:
- your iOS version and iPhone model;
- what you did, and what happened instead of what you expected;
- roughly when it happened, if it was tied to a particular night.
